Hi, Ben here, since 2008, I have been teaching PIANO, GUITAR and DRUM lessons, I have played piano for 20 years. Every student wants to get to the part of consistently picking up new songs and enjoying this new language that they learn, and my methods have been proven to work. No difficult memorizing, no tedious "counting" etc.
I have 2 method specialties for teaching:
1. PLAY BY EAR: I use the fantastic American method called PIANO FOR ALL, using this method, I will guide you in pop piano playing, from pop, to rock, to jazz, to blues etc. and improvisation will come to you from the back of your mind just in a snap
2. I also use the BUMBLE BEE'S METHOD. What is the benefits of this method? Well, all music consists of the same bunch of patterns, and this modern method has combined most of the patterns of music phrases into one book, and will be taught to the student. every time he sees a new song, he will look through the piece, and circle all the patterns that he has learnt. The whole song suddenly does not look like a difficult piece with 1000 notes, but only 10 simple patterns that we have already covered in the bumble bee book. This is how you see your sister's "talented" son able to sight read this well. because some kids are just born with the perception to find patterns, other kids, not to worry, we will develop that trait using our bumble bee method to apply, not just in music, but all aspects of growing up. Once you know this wonderful secret, you cannot un-know it.
1. How is this different from the conventional teaching method?BUMBLE BEE'S DREAM applies knowledge about human brain functions to piano lessons, developing the left and right brain, cerebellum, bone marrow and nervous system through playing music.
2. How does the method enhance piano learning and enabling us to learn and better understand music's concepts?BUMBLE BEE'S DREAM uses the process of learning music to help students discover their intelligence, in all fields, music, logic, motoric, emotion, etc. The principle is a method of learning in a playful way, which allows to achieve these highest level performances with ease and minimal effort, and in minimal time, By awakening students' enthusiasm, motivation and concentration are guaranteed, and almost as a by product, maximum performance is attained with minimum effort.
3. Is the BUMBLE BEE'S DREAM method suitable for all ages?Yes, we have taught students of various age groups. It has been proven that our method works for kids age 3.5 to retirees of 78 MOE has used the method in keyboard/piano workshops, in PCF teacher's training, churches, government schools, kindergartens, pre-schools and other established organiztions like creative O and NTUC
4. Why is sight reading essential in the BUMBLE BEE'S DREAM s method?BUMBLE BEE'S DREAM students are emphasized to encompass good sight-reading skills, this will ebable them to learn and understand concepts faster by themselves when engaging new long pieces, they can also revise the old pieces they like or present their piano achievement where ever necessary. More importantly, sight is part of the left brain function, this training will develop the student's intelligence and confidence.
